We were unprepared for the cold weather. Below freezing weather is not cold for some but, we have become soft. =) We tried to work on the Mooreland House yesterday but had to run home with our tails between our legs. Today though, we brought help! A quick trip to Tractor Supply and now we have heat. It isn’t much but it is going to take the edge off enough that we will be able to actually get something done.
Hard to get much done when your knees are knocking together and your teeth are chattering. I suppose turning on the whole house heat is a little out of the question right now. What interior projects are you focusing on during the cold weather?

The poor Mooreland House hasn’t had a heating system in over 15 years. What is in the basement might have been a boiler at one time but now it is a rusted piece of junk metal. Some radiators are missing and there is no way that the pipes are sound. We are actually still trying to focus in on something to do. Right now it is little clean up jobs to make it easier when we get a little warmer weather for outside work.

Could you make yourselves a little warmer with heavy duty layers of clothes? Think of those who enjoy outdoor winter sports. Some items can get a little pricey but could be well worth it in the end. Maybe your work wouldn’t be interrupted.

Oh yes, we have warm clothes. We are doing this because we enjoy it. Working in the cold is never much fun even when you are bundled up. This is just the first cold snap and we are not used to it at all. By February we will be looking back at today and laughing that we were a little cold. =)

Stay safe as the cold weather approaches. Dress in layers should help.
