Sewer mystery?

We uncovered a sewer pipe while pulling stumps that adds some mystery as to where the septic system is on the Mooreland House property. This is a 4 inch clay pipe that heads out of the house to the north. We drew a red line on the overhead picture to show the area and direction that the pipe is heading.

Metal detector? Some can find other materials besides metal…

The sensors they use to find underground non metallic pipes are very expensive. We will probably try to do it the old fashioned way… with a shovel. =)

I don’t suppose the house was ever connected to the city’s lines? My brother had a septic like we do but he did connect to city after many complications (…and it was very old)

It has never been connected to city sewer. The people that came and looked at it said it would be cheaper and easier to put in a new septic system than put in the pumping system to get it over 700 feet to the nearest city sewer line.
