Before it rains again we decided we should clean up and get the small flat roof (we know… another flat roof) knocked down on the storm porch. It was full of needles and small pine cones from the hemlock trees that overhang it. The roof used to be attached to the wall just under the bottom of the window sill stone. There is nothing holding it up any more. This needs to come down before it falls on someone.
Hemlock tree debris on storm porch roof Flat roof should be even with the bottom of the window Flat roof shouldn’t be sloped to the house Metal used to cover the flat roof
Will you build something later to replace it?

The storm porch stays. Only the small flat roof that is falling in needs replaced. The storm porch is original to the house.

I don’t think I’ve been a fan of flat roofs before. But I’m sure that you guys are going to do an amazing job at replacing fixing or whatever it needs

We haven’t ever seen a flat roof that didn’t leak. Leaks cause rot and rot causes collapse. We don’t like flat roofs but they are an architectural feature of the Mooreland House in many places. We have to learn to live with them. =)
