Storm porch post

We got to revisit one of the first projects we did at the Mooreland House. We were trying to figure out how to move the post so we could pour a concrete pad under it when… viola! it already had one. We were very excited to find it and quickly moved it onto the pad and made it a lot more secure.

You still have more to do but… much better! Don’t you wonder how that post and pad got knocked out of place? That wouldn’t have been easy. Maybe some big piece of equipment backed into it. If that’s the case, some one must have thought, “Oh, well!” and went on their merry way. Too many, “Oh, wells”, associated with the Mooreland house and the two of you are left to fix them all. But, what a sense of satisfaction when completed. I love that storm porch area. It seems so peaceful back there.

We figure it got knocked out of place when they were taking all the fixtures out of the Mooreland House. They knew it was going to foreclosure so they weren’t that concerned about what happened to the house. We were very please that it was a fairly easy fix. There is also a pedestal out near the driveway that has been knocked a little on its pad but that is for another day.

It will be really nice once we get rid of those hemlock trees and clean up our debris piles.
