This week’s video finishes up the corner we have been working on. There is a before/after video that shows how different it looks now. We think it looks better. At the end we celebrate the kittens first year with us. We put in the offer on the Mooreland House just over a year ago and are closing in on the one year anniversary of when we got her.
It looks great. The brick wall and sill plate ‘permanent fix’ are a win/win! Using the old lumber for things in the attic was such a good call on your part.

Thanks! We just couldn’t adulterate it with modern lumber. It would stick out like a sore thumb. We love that fact that we can pan around the attic and you can’t tell where we have done some major fixes.

Thanks! We always forget what it used to look like until we find the “before” picture. It usually looks better in the “after” picture. =)

I have a stupid question. So forgive me. When you jack up the rafters on the inside, how much movement happens to the outside specifically the slate tiles on the roof? I would think tiny movements on the inside would equal large movement on the outside and might disturb the slate you’ve already fixed?

Not a stupid question. You are absolutely correct. That is one of the reasons we removed all the slate on that part of the roof and have not reinstalled it yet.
