We have a new attic opening in the Mooreland House now. The roof is supported and we have successfully removed all the brick. It isn’t very hard to remove when the mortar is just sand. There are a lot of bricks in a 15 inch wide wall.

WOW! My hats off to you Frank ! That’s a lot to swallow. Of course taking it apart is the easiest part of the job!

Yes, it is a big project. In for a penny in for a pound… right? We doubt there are many masons out there that would take this one on. Good thing Frank is a pilot and doesn’t know any better. =)

Yikes this looks like major reconstruction. I hope birds and bats don’t find this opening and take up residence in the attic.

Yes, it is major reconstruction. We are taking the wall down and rebuilding it. Birds have always been able to find their way in, bats… we haven’t seen any yet. =)
