We got 3 stones from the dormer facade back into place. The big corner ones maxed out our 300 pound bathroom scale we tried to use to weigh them. The window sill stone weighed in at 165. It is a good feeling to know they are sitting on a very solid foundation.

I recall that the side of the dormer had a lot of tar holding the flashing together. What will you do now to make it watertight?

  That is a great question. We haven’t quite figured it out yet. It all involves pulling slate off the wall and roof to do it right. We are still trying to get tar off of the stones so we do remember how it was.
