It’s looking so good! It’s amazing to me the difference in appearance between the front and back of the stones. I wonder how long it took the stone mason to “polish” the outer side. Such pride in their work! Amazing!

What is the purpose of the pipe above the dormer stones?

That is a long rod that is tied into the framing of the dormer. It will be tied back into the stones once we get the stones up that high. It is kind of a safety if the dormer started to fall.

The further up this goes the clearer it becomes just how close Mooreland house was to collapsing. Looking at the bolt that held that dormer back and realizing how unstable everything was below it’s a miracle. Happy

We aren’t sure that the bolt would have held it up if it had decided to go. It probably made them feel better when they built it though. =)

The bolt would not have stopped it if that one stone that was wedged in on the left side had let go however I think it would have all been on the ground with out that bolt. You are definitely the house’s heroes.
