We got up at 4am this morning and drove 5 hours to pick up some more slate. We got about 6,000 pounds. We should have enough now to finish the Mooreland House roof. Driving 10 hours with an hour of loading slate in a trailer makes for a long day. We made it back in time to go caroling though. Lucky Frank.
What a great gift for Miss Mooreland! It will be wonderful to have a secure roof and no more leaks as the renovation continues. Find ways to stay warm this winter as you plan and prepare for all the projects that will be ready for you to complete when warm weather returns. Merry Christmas!ππΆππ

Yes, things do slow down a bit when it gets bitter cold down at the Mooreland House. It will be a while till we track down all the leaks.

Reminds me of the song by Kentucky Ernie Ford. Another 3 tons and what do you get, another day older and deeper in debt. Glad you were able to find the slate. Hope it is a good match. And don’t forget to have a Merry Christmas!!

Thanks! We are slowing down a little for Christmas. The kids are in town and they aren’t as passionate about working on the Mooreland House as we are. The slate will work well. If it is a little off we can just use it all in one area and it will be unnoticed.
