The Wall is Done!

We made stones like crazy and finally finished the part of the front wall we took down. This was the culmination of a few months of work that we didn’t know if we were capable of but we managed to muddle through it. We have now successfully put back a wall that will last for at least another hundred years. Thanks for supporting us daily on this blog while we went through it. Hope this video clears up some questions that weren’t answered by a few sentences on the blog posts.

    I felt like this was your video showing what you did on your “summer vacation”, complete with green leaves and country music. What a lovely sight to behold on the day after Christmas when the trees are bare and Christmas music fills the air. Your gift of sharing your adventures, both old and new, is such a treat.     This video just made me smile!!! I love to see the progress. It’s so exciting!!! It’s so interesting seeing the shapes of the stones and how they fit together. I found myself thinking how cool it would be if there was a journal from the original builders so we could see the reasons they made Miss Mooreland the way they did. You guys are doing an amazing job and I can’t wait to see what the coming year brings.

      Someone knew what the type of stonework that it was. He said it was “rubble masonry” stonework where they used whatever stones they had and made them into a shape that would work. We thought that was a neat revelation. We haven’t been able to find anyone that has any of the history of the building process itself.

        That’s really interesting. It makes me think of a crazy quilt. Using what you have to make something beautiful.
