Rotted Rooms

We didn’t have time to post yesterday because we did another presentation for the Harrodsburg Historical Society. We have been demolishing the powder room and the bathroom next to it. We can tell by what it looks like from the basement that there is not a solid floor. It was so precarious that it was safer to put the bathroom door through the floor than try to get it out any other way. We snapped a few pictures of the progress.

It looks like you picked a worthy candidate among your options to tackle. It will be interesting to watch the transformation over the next few months. Thanks for giving us a front row seat!

Thanks! We just take it a little at a time. Just like eating an elephant. =)

We need water to live but it nearly killed this house. You are the surgeons bringing it back to life.

We feel more like emergency room doctors performing a form of triage.

Is anything salvageable? I’d love to “donate” if there are any beadboard or lathe boards that I could use as an accent piece in my basement renovation.

Anything that is salvageable will be reused when we put it back together. There is very little that isn’t mush though.
