Spring Cleaning!

Kerry had a lot of time lapse videos from when we finally got around to cleaning up all of our debris piles around the Mooreland House. It had been a long time coming. It is nice that we are in a spot where we feel comfortable enough to clean up instead of just pressing on with saving the house. We hope you enjoy something different from all the stone and brick.

Loved the video! Nice to see the inside for a change but really shows how much restoration you have ahead of you. Great job on the cleanup.

Thanks! We really do have a ways to go. It sure is tempting to quit outside and move inside but that wouldn’t be very practical. =)

It looks great! Clean up is just as satisfying as renovation work. The stairway/banister/landing areas are so unique and beyond gorgeous.

She looks much better cleaned up. You can tell the beauty and possibilities now.
I have a fireplace insert that I would like to donate to Mrs. Mooreland if you’d be interested.

You can see the possibility and promise once you have her off “life support”. So interesting to see!

Seeing the floors swept just makes us want to keep going. We know it would just be futile right now though since she drops more plaster right away. =)

The first video I saw of Miss Mooreland it was raining inside the house and I was so sad because it was obvious that she’d once been a magnificent lady. I thought it was hopeless, when you described it as life support I totally agreed. Now she’s swept, she’s dry, she’s braced up, and there is real hope that she’ll be a wonderful home again for at least another century. I’m very excited to see how things progress. That staircase and stain glass, awesome, they just don’t make stuff like that anymore. Thanks for sharing!😊

Thanks for sticking around and being an encouragement. We are slowly healing all that ails her.

You are welcome! We do tend to get focused on the job at hand. We will have to figure out a way to show the inside more.
