We finally did enough prep work that we can start getting the drywall and plaster off of the ceiling. It’s amazing how much work we have to do to reach the ceiling in this house. It is going to be nice to not have plaster chunks falling on the stairs any more.
Frank lost me for a second…all I heard was ‘keep the heavy plaster off the deck’ but then he was jacking up the 2x12s and my pea brain was like ‘how’????? Thanks for explaining the beam going across the span of that area that’s holding that weight.
Also, is the plan to remove all plaster/lath and Sheetrock the interior of the home? Or, are some plaster areas worth saving?

We are going to remove all the drywall. All of the plaster on the ceilings will have to come down as well. There are some walls that have stayed dry and the plaster on them will be able to be repaired.

Looking good – I assume you’re going to replace the undersized beam/brick with a multiple LVL beam?

You are exactly right. We go get the beam in next week’s video.
