We have to support every joist that holds up this part of the attic floor. Once we do it we will be able to remove the bricks and old beam and put a new support beam in. Sure is a lot of work to replace four 2x8s.

I love watching the videos every Sunday. The two of you are so talented. I also love seeing “kitten”. I can’t remember where she came from. Is she yours? Or did she live at Moreland House?

Kitten just showed up one day about a year and a half ago. We tried to find where she came from but no one claimed her. She was fixed so we think she belonged to someone. She uses the castle as a home base and also visits the neighbors.

I love your updates! am also restoring an old home. An 1894 colonial (Lindum Grange) in NZ on the Kaipara harbor, built by settlers from the UK from Kauri trees on the property, abandoned for nearly 30 years. Being such a young county we don’t have many grand houses needing restoration (and they are costly on our little island). I love watching you both, especially enjoying the humor and your interplay making renovation fun. It will be wonderful to see the house finished on the inside. you are both doing such a good job-saving history

That’s great! Let us know if there is something that we can do. It sounds like you have your hands full.
